SADS released their first album in late 1999. Instead of touring in Japan first, they did a tour in the UK. Tanuma left the band shortly after this.
The SADS sound at first was pure old school punk rock, much in the style of late Kuroyume, but more developed. As SADS would go on, releasing their second album, Babylon, in 2000, they would start mix more dark rock with punk rock, a nice mix that has been done many times in the past.
After the release of their single Nightmare in late 2000, Muta announced his departure from the band. This was announced right after Muta [Bass] joined as a full time member of SADS. For Muta's depature, they would gain Eiji [ex-Kuroyume session player, ex-Piranaheads] and thus a new SADS lineup is born. Basically Kuroyume with no Hitoki.
They released their third album, The Rose God Gave Me, in 2001. The album was a groundbreaker and something fresh for what was a shitty year for JRock. The album mixed elements of early Kuroyume goth rock with the late Kuroyume/early-SADS style of hardcore punk, turning out to be a beautiful and erotic album.
